The Mon people are refugees from Myanmar that the Thai government has allowed to stay in Thailand. They support themselves by working on the rafts, and entertaining tourists like us. Their open-air school accomadates all ages with one teacher. The older children help the younger ones.
Except by boat, this is this is how you leave the raft; as Phyllis and Kirsten demonstrate.
